Pork Fried Rice Recipe

Don’t leave this fried rice recipe hanging – It’s one of my favorites!

Ingredients:

  • 2-1/2 cups water
  • 1-1/3cups long-grain white rice
  • 8 ounces ground pork or pork sausage
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 medium thinly sliced onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh ginger
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • ½ teaspoon grounded paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 cups chopped cooked vegetables (broccoli, zucchini, carrots, spinach…)
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 3 sliced green onions
  • ½ cup cilantro leaves
Directions:
  1. Bring water and rice to a boil in a saucepan over high heat
  2. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 20 minutes or until water is absorbed
  3. Drain the rice, fluff rice with fork and set aside to cool
  4. Cook the pork in wok or medium skillet over medium-high heat until no longer pink
  5. Drain off excess fat, transfer the pork to a bowl and set aside
  6. Heat wok or large skillet over medium-high heat
  7. Add onion, ginger, garlic and paprika; stir-fry until onion is tender (about 4-6 minutes)
  8. Stir in the fish sauce and mix well.
  9. Stir in the rice, vegetables and pork; cook and stir until heated through
  10. Put the rice mixture to side of wok and pour eggs into center.
  11. Cook the eggs just until set, lifting and stirring to scramble
  12. Stir the rice mixture into the eggs adding the green onions
  13. Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with cilantro

Shrimp Fried Rice Recipe

The Shrimp Fried Rice Recipe is a fried rice recipe you can’t go wrong with.

You are welcome to try it, to try my other fried rice recipes and you’re more than welcome to leave a comment

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cups of long-grain rice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 large, lightly beaten eggs
  • 2 cups chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon minced peeled fresh ginger
  • 1 pound medium shrimp, cooked, peeled, and chopped
  • 10-ounce package of frozen green peas

Directions:

  1. Boil a medium pot of salted water
  2. Stir in the rice and boil for 10 minutes (until done)
  3. Drain the rice and set aside to cool
  4. Mix the first 6 ingredients in a bowl and set aside
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat
  6. Add the eggs and stir-fry for about30 seconds or until soft-scrambled
  7. Add the onions and ginger; stir-fry for 1 minute
  8. Add the rice, shrimp, and peas; stir-fry for about 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated
  9. Add the broth mixture and toss gently to coat

Coconut Fried Rice Recipe

A coconut fried rice recipe, and any other coconut recipe is tricky, as you either love it or hate it.

As a huge coconut fan, I’m adding this fried rice recipe for coconut lovers.
It is an easy recipe, but the result is amazing.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 sweet, finely chopped onion
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon catsup
  • 1 cup finely diced tomato
  • 1/4 cup low-fat milk
  • A pinch of saffron
  • A pinch of curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon coconut extract
  • 4 cups cooked brown rice
  • ½ pound or more cooked and shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add the eggs to a medium bowl and blend it well
  2. Coat a large, nonstick frying pan with canola cooking oil and start heating over medium-high heat
  3. Pour in the egg mixture and scramble it
  4. Set the cooked eggs aside
  5. Add canola oil to the same frying pan, and heat over medium-high heat
  6. Add the onions and garlic and stir-fry for a few minutes until golden
  7. Add the salt, pepper, catsup, and diced tomato, and continue to stir-fry for a few minutes
  8. Add the milk, saffron, curry and coconut extract to a 1-cup measure and stir to blend
  9. Add the brown rice, chicken and coconut milk mixture to the frying pan with the onion mixture and continue to stir-fry for a couple more minutes
  10. Stir in the scrambled eggs
  11. Garnish with green onions and cilantro

Indonesian Fried Rice Recipe

The Indonesian Fried Rice Recipe is one of my favorite fried rice recipes, as it takes me back to the good times I had when I was visiting Indonesia.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of long-grain rice
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 5 shallots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced
  • 3 red chilies, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon dried shrimp paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • sliced cucumbers (to garnish)
  • sliced tomatoes (to garnish)
  • 8 ounces sliced chicken or pork
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage

Directions:

  1. Boil a medium pot of salted water
  2. Stir in the rice and boil for 10 minutes (until done)
  3. Drain the rice and set aside to cool
  4. Use the egg to make a thin omelet; cool, then shred
  5. Heat the remaining oil in the wok and fry the shallots, garlic, chilies and shrimp paste until the shallots are tender
  6. Add the meat and the shredded cabbage, cook until meat is cooked through
  7. Increase the heat to high and add the rice, salt and soy sauce, adding a little oil if necessary, stirring constantly until heated through
  8. Garnish with shredded egg, cucumber, and tomato

Basil Fried Rice Recipe

The Basil Fried Rice Recipe is the ultimate fried rice recipe for Basil lovers.

You are welcome to try it, to try my other fried rice recipes and you’re more than welcome to leave a comment

Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups of long-grain rice
  • 30 ml oil
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped (increase to suit tastes)
  • 1-3 small fresh red chilies or green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 cup of fresh, halved mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 bunch long beans or snake beans or green beans or French haricots vert, cut into short lengths
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 15 leaves basil
Directions
  1. Boil a medium pot of salted water
  2. Stir in the rice and boil for 10 minutes (until done)
  3. Drain the rice and set aside to cool
  4. Heat the oil In a wok or a skillet
  5. Add the garlic and chilies and fry until the garlic is light brown
  6. Add the mushrooms and onions, stir quickly
  7. Add cooked rice; stir thoroughly
  8. add the beans, peppers, and soy, stir thoroughly
  9. At the very end, stir in basil leaves and immediately turn into a serving bowl
